Considering a Remodel? Bathroom Ideas Become Reality

A recent project has been completed! This was an upstairs and downstairs bathroom remodel in Bridgewater, Virginia. The upstairs and downstairs bathrooms each had their own remodeled aspects. For example, we removed the existing corner shower unit and installed a new cultured marble shower surround. In addition, the sink and Jacuzzi each got new faucets, and we replaced the light fixtures above the sink. Finally, we also installed a new toilet in the upstairs bathroom.

For the downstairs bathroom remodel, we stripped the walls of the old wallpaper and painted the bathroom a light blue/green. With just a few strips of the wooden flooring, we matched it and redid the flooring for the downstairs bathroom. Also, we installed a new vanity and sink. Bathroom Ideas: Re-purposed Antiques

The painting on the wall has a unique story special to our clients. Chuck and Dawn had purchased the painting at an auction in 1991. The artist is Richard Farrell. He had painted a landscape of a nearby church. Chuck and Dawn saved the painting knowing that one day they would have the perfect location for it. While remodeling the bathrooms, it became apparent that the saved painting matched the downstairs bathroom color scheme very well. Dawn had the painting re-purposed with new matting put around the border. Now the painting serves its purpose on display in the newly remodeled bathroom!

Bathroom Project Highlights

We remodeled both bathrooms in the fall of 2017. The upstairs bathroom had an existing shower unit with brass trim. We replaced this with a new cultured marble glass shower surround and added new shower fixtures.

For an updated look, we removed the existing vanity top in the bathroom and installed a new vanity top with a new faucet. In addition, the upper vanity cabinet was removed, saved, and then reinstalled after the vanity top had been installed.
