“Sometimes you will win, sometimes you will lose, but the question I’ll always ask you is, “What did you learn?” – John Maxwell

The ICB Construction Team Investing in Personal Growth

How do you maintain a good company culture in today’s working industry? Can something like a “company culture” really be possible to create and maintain?

I believe it can. A couple years ago, we started something we call our Monday Morning Culture Meetings. Our team of employees gathers in the office for coffee and refreshments. Then together we watch a portion of a motivational/personal growth resource.

Together as a company we’ve now gone through a variety of John Maxwell’s courses: “The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership”, “The 17 Indisputable Laws of Teamwork”, a number of the EntreLeadership videos with Dave Ramsey, the book “Thou Shall Prosper” by Rabbi Daniel Lapin, and other short personal growth videos. Earlier this year we went through the video course “Sometimes You Win, Sometimes You Learn” by John Maxwell.

Quotes From Recent Studies

“Sometimes you will win, sometimes you will lose, but the question I’ll always ask you is, ‘What did you learn?'”  – John Maxwell

“There is a school called life, and there are no mistakes, only lessons” – John Maxwell

“How we think when we lose determines how long it will be until we win.” – G.K. Chesterton

We only spend about 1 hour every week watching a personal growth resource and talking about it together as a team. But even that one meeting has done so much for our company culture. Small faithfulness is better than great inconsistency. It’s amazing the transformation that can happen with your daily mindset if you just begin to take one positive step consistently.

What Team Members are Saying

“The Culture Meetings and how that has been so good here at Integrity was really what made Integrity stand out as the place I wanted to work. It’s rare to find that kind of team atmosphere, especially in the construction industry.” – Justin, Field Team

“My favorite part of working for Integrity is the Culture Meetings. I have learned so many things that I have applied to my work and also personal life.” – Morgan, Office Team
