Small Bathroom Makeover in Harrisonburg

We remodeled this bathroom to match the color scheme of the new kitchen (soft gray/blue walls and tile flooring.) For this bathroom, we installed a new toilet and sink vanity. Originally the sink had been an undermount sink with drawers and cabinets below it. We replaced it with a pedestal sink that provides more room for the small bathroom.

Small Bathroom Makeover – Before

The old bathroom had an undermount sink that rested between the two walls to the right. (See center photo.) It’s color had matched the previous kitchen in the house. (We also did a kitchen makeover in this same house and doubled the upstairs bathroom with some creative remodeling!) It was good to get the small bathroom up to date with the new kitchen. And the new tile and soft blue/gray walls match the kitchen.

Considering a Small Bathroom Makeover?

Keep in mind that small bathroom makeovers offer a wide variety of options for updates and improvements. Simply looking at the existing bathroom could leave one feeling like there are only a few possibilities. Take a look at the upstairs bathroom in this same house. Originally it had been a large master bathroom. We split it down the middle by adding a wall, which created two full bathrooms for the upstairs level.

Ideas For a Small Bathroom Makeover

If you have a small bathroom in need of an update, there are a few ways to spice up the style without requiring a lot of redesign. The first is to change the paint color/color scheme. This is probably the quickest way to update the style of a bathroom. Try to go with soft light colors which give the bathroom a more open feel. If you don’t mind some light construction, consider new cabinets, flooring, or a sink vanity. Both raised and flat panel cabinets are popular choices today. Choose a sink vanity that will accent the style of your bathroom. Small bathroom makeovers provide a great opportunity to add a fresh look to your home.
